If you really knew me, you'd know ...
- I'm curious even when I'm quiet. I don't think I'm an especially slow processor, but, when having substantive conversations, I often sit and ponder before responding. Maybe my dad told me at and impressionable age that it's better to quiet and thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.
- I get cranky without a daily run. I run six days a week, just about every week. If I take more than a couple days off, I'm significantly less fun to be around.
- Trying new foods is a fun way to explore. I hate chain restaurants. I love local recommendations.
- I hate talking about myself, but I love it when you ask. Do you ever have someone who is just amazing at engaging you in conversastion? Someone who makes you feel so interesting? That is a gift.
- I'm up for an adventure. Always. During college, I would often tell my buddies that these are the times we'll tell our descendents about. I was usually trying to get them to do something crazy in the wee hours of the evening.
- The closer we are, the less I mind sitting in silence. You have to really know someone to not talk, to trust that it won't be awkward.
- I just folks who use Reply-All irresponsibly. Or the All-Staff function. I teach at a big school. Does everyone need to see your message? Probably not.
- I'm obsessive about line-drying my laundry. Living in Michigan, I get lots of weird looks when I'm hanging clothes up in February, but I'll do it if the temps are warm enough that my jeans don't freeze.
- I'm super-discplined about my running but not about lifting, stretching, or what I eat. I laugh when people assume I won't eat that piece of cake.
- Writing is how I think. It's how I process emotions. If you're doing this challenge, I bet you do too.
